Apogee Engineering is the Prime contractor supporting the U.S. Air Force Global Positioning System Operation Center (GPSOC) at the 2nd Space Operations Squadron’s (2SOPS) at Schriever AFB, CO.

The GPSOC brings together in one organization the expertise, data fusion, analysis and visualization capabilities, and performance information required to support GPS users. The overarching mission of the GPSOC is to provide support to operate, maintain, and employ GPS to provide a superior technological edge for military, civil, and allied missions. We provide monitoring and collection of GPS satellite Precise Positioning Service (PPS) and Special Positioning Services (SPS) telemetry data, conduct analysis of all reported or suspected Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) or Radio Frequency Interference (RFI), provide strategic, operational, and tactical level GPS performance predictions to support real world and exercise operations.

Apogee is responsible for the technical analysis and support to resolve GPS user problems though use of the GPS Interference Analysis Tool (GIANT), EMI analysis, time sensitive targeting (TST) analysis, user-requested GPS data, Requests for Information (RFI), Advantages and Vulnerabilities assessments, and updating procedural documents. Additionally, Apogee is responsible for the development and conduct of GPSOC familiarization and mission impact training to 2 and 19 SOPS members and trainees, visitors, and military leadership. Instruction includes Mission Employment Academics for GPS crew operators, instruction in software tools such as GIANT and Integrated Space Situational Awareness (ISSA), Army space operations classes for the FA40, Space Operations Officer training, and National Security Space Institute (NSSI) Director of Space Forces classes.
