Apogee Engineering provides U.S. Strategic Command with Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to develop, coordinate, and manage future SATCOM system requirements and deployment/employment strategies.
 
Our staff conducts planning, definition, implementation, and operational management of global communications systems.  Our support emcompasses satellite communications owned and operated by Department of Defense (DoD) primarily in the government frequency bands (military satellite communications (MILSATCOM)) and commercial SATCOM used by the DoD but provided by commercial entities using commercial frequencies.  This support also covers allied SATCOM systems and civil SATCOM systems (systems owned by or operated for non-DoD or intelligence agencies) used by DoD. 

Apogee Engineering performs strategic global SATCOM planning and analysis to support SATCOM resource allocation, apportionment, deployment, implementation, and coalition plans.  Our staff is responsible for satellite positioning and repositioning updating and managing Satellite Communications Database (SDB) inputs; policy implementation and oversight; requirements analysis and studies; terminal testing and certification; system usage and operational assessment; and SATCOM integration and synchronization. Our communications planning tool expertise and J66 support includes evaluating network definitions on the Milstar Communications Planning Tool-Integrated (MCPT-i), Mission Planning Element (MPE), Joint SATCOM Management and Planning System (JSMPS) and Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool (JIST) planning systems.
