Apogee Engineering provides acquisition strategy experts and personnel to support the acquisition of major weapon systems, technology, and products by DoD and civil agencies.
Our acquisition support teams serve as the PEO's authorities on DoD 5000.02, Defense Acquisition Guides, the Capabilities Review and Risk Assessment (CRRA) process, the Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE) System, and JCIDS process. As systems complexities increase, our teams work with program managers to ensure a joint integrated acquisition perspective is properly addressed, one that looks beyond a specific program office, to best leverage and integrate new technologies and ultimately build interoperable systems and capabilities.
Our staff analyzes program cost models to verify estimates and plans are accurate, defensible, and implementable within schedule and cost boundaries while building solutions for Air Force leadership to support key decision points. Apogee teams evaluate strategic guidance, such as the ISR Flight Plan and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Flight Plans, from government and contractors' perspectives to ensure consistency and compatibility. Our staff works to standardize business processes between programs and contractors to ensure a clear evaluation and comparison of program performance metrics is available and lessons learned are properly applied. Our acquisition support includes researching Science and Technology (S&T) efforts and making recommendations to program managers on investment strategies that provide superior capabilities to the Warfighter.
Supporting PEOs and Program Managers, Apogee Engineering staff gathers, reviews, and rates the best technological solutions, regardless of origin; evaluates and analyzes all elements, including cost, schedule, and feasibility; and combines the technological solution(s) into a common interoperable solution, ensuring the government achieves its objectives on-time and within budget.
