Apogee Engineering was founded in space operations and military satellite systems, providing systems engineering support to HQ AFSPC and pre-operational software testing, system transition and administration to SMC. Our breadth of corporate and staff experience crosses multiple Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) and Positioning, Navigation, & Timing (PNT) space systems, including Milstar, Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF), Enhanced Polar System (EPS), Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), and the Global Positioning System (GPS).

Apogee has provided HQ AFSPC MILSATCOM Requirements Directorate (AFSPC/A5M) with independent operational analysis of AEHF acquisition products, including interfaces and protocols; led and developed new resource allocation processes; and provided subject matter expertise and guidance for Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E). We also led Milstar and AEHF constellation deployment, positioning, and repositioning planning, including development of multiple courses of actions (COA) for system fielding and coordination.

Apogee supports Space and Missile Systems Center, MILSATCOM Systems Wing (SMC/MC) with pre-operational testing and verification of the Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) within the AEHF program.  Our systems, test, and transition engineers are planning and performing operational evaluation of the MPSS software prior to deployment and IOT&E events to mitigate deployment risks and ensure final products meet operational acceptance and transition smoothly.

Our staff also provides direct support to USSTRATCOM/J6 in conducting planning, definition, implementation, and operational management of global communications systems.  We provide strategic global resource planning of the Nation’s most secure and reliable SATCOM assets, including resource allocation, apportionment, constellation deployment, implementation, and coalition plans. We have conducted integrated system-level planning and coordination for all SATCOM systems in support of strategic and global operations, including intelligence, commercial, and allied SATCOM resources.

Apogee’s Space mission support area includes the technical analysis and operational support for the world’s most accurate PNT system, the Global Positioning System (GPS).  Our engineers provide 24/7 support to the Warfighters through strategic, operational, and tactical-level GPS performance prediction, accuracy analysis, and interference evaluations.
